This listing is for this rare vintage modernist art glass vase that features a unique swirl bubbles pattern and porthole windows. Made from heavy glass, this vase is a standout decorative piece for collectors or those looking to add a touch of artistic flair to their space. This type of cased modernist "portal" or "window" art glass vase was primarily made during the late 20th century, specifically the 1970s and 1980s. These heavy, hand-blown pieces often feature a cased or mottled spatter glass interior (mimicking organic patterns or tortoise shells) with thick, clear outer layers that are intentionally cold-cut or blown with open circular viewpoints called "windows" or "portals". Similar mid-century modernist designs originated out of Murano (Italy) and various glass studios in Poland, remaining highly popular vintage collectibles today. This one has the thick black interior. It is in amazing vintage condition, no chips or cracks. It measures 8.5” tall and is approximately 6” in diameter. It’s heavy.
