Arabia of Finland Moomin Mug Snow Moonlight Winter 2021 Limited Edition Retired

This is MOOMIN mug " Snow Moonlight " by Arabia of Finland. It is a winter seasonal Arabia Moomin mug from 2021. It is retired.

Mug measures - Approx.3 inches tall with a mouth diameter of approx. 3.25 inches.

It is stamped Dishwasher safe, microwave safe, oven to table.

The series this mug belongs to continues the winter themes based on Tove Jansson's book Moominland Midwinter. Moomins are asleep during winter time, but the moonlight shines on Moomintroll's face waking him up from his slumber. Going out, he finds Moominvalley covered by snow. He experiences this new exciting world with his friends Little My and Too-Ticky. The three of them are looking over the frozen sea as the Snowhorse disappears into the horizon. The images are based on the original work of Tove Jansson and transformed into beautiful everyday objects by designer Tove Slotte. The mug is decorated by Tove Slotte- who for 30 years adapted Tove Jansson's original illustrations for these Moomin Mugs. Tove Slotte retired in 2022

Information about the origins: "The Moomins or Moomintrolls (Swedish: Mumintrollen, pronounced [ˈmʉːmɪnˌtrɔlːɛn]) are the central characters in a series of novels, short stories, picture books, and a comic strip by the Finnish writer and illustrator Tove Jansson, originally published in Swedish by the Finnish publisher Schildts.[2] They are a family of white, round fairy-tale characters with large snouts that make them resemble the hippopotamus. However, despite this resemblance, the Moomin family are trolls who live in a house in Moominvalley"

The books were written between 1945 and 1993.
