Douglas Becker Signed Hand Blown Art Glass Fish Sculpture Red•Blue•YellowGreen 2008 10.5”L x 8.25” T
Contemporary American studio art glass sculpture of a tropical fish, hand-blown and signed by recognized artist Douglas J. Becker. Crafted in 2008, this exceptional piece beautifully utilizes traditional Venetian master furnace techniques. The sculpture features a thick, heavy outer casing of crystal-clear glass that holds an incredibly vibrant, dense internal pattern of mottled orange, red, yellow, and green glass canes and confetti macchie. It is intricately detailed with separately applied clear glass elements, including a beautifully ribbed dorsal fin, delicate pectoral and ventral stabilizing fins, and hand-sculpted lips and eyes.
Condition: Tooling mark under the top fin, in the middle where the bend is, see last picture. Underneath that it feels a little rough, can’t see it but can feel it. S1-57B
