Favrene Blue Loganberry Vase 100 Year Anniversary Signed George Fenton
Gorgeous vase from Fenton in their Favrene glass in the loganberry pattern. This vase was made for the 100th Fenton Anniversary and is signed and dated by George Fenton on the bottom. No chips or cracks, the bottom has some light scratches. Fenton Art Glass Company's Favrene glass is made by combining cobalt blue glass and pure silver, and then reheating it to bring the silver to the surface. Once the silver is on the surface, it's sprayed with metallic salts to create a silvery-blue iridescence. Fenton's Favrene glass is based on two earlier glasses, Tiffany's Favrile and Steuben's Blue Aurene, and was developed by Frank M. Fenton to achieve a similar silvery blue color.
