Sent Murano was founded on the island of Murano in Italy in 1993 by Marina and Susanna Sent. The sisters came from a family of glass decorators. Building on their roots, the Sents meld old methods with new techniques to craft innovative jewelry designs. Eye-catching necklaces are the mainstay of the jewelry side of their business. However, they have produced other jewelry styles, such as bracelets and earrings.

Susanna Sent was trained as an architect and worked in her father's business, learning to work with glass during the 1980s. Marina Sent also worked on the operational side of the family business and now serves as the production supervisor for Sent Murano. Both sisters have an appreciation for modern art that is incorporated into their workshop’s jewelry designs.

The Sent sisters currently operate three shops in Italy, one in Murano and two in Venice, where their glass pieces are sold. They have also participated in regional events and museum exhibitions extensively over the past decade. Their exhibits have often featured jewelry and garments made with their clear blown glass bubble beads.
