Piglets for Sale Table/Shelf Sitter FREE SHIPPING! - Handmade by me
This 'Piglets for Sale' Table/Shelf-sitter measures approximately 11 inches in height by 8 inches in width and 5 inches thick.
This is crocheted using acrylic yarn in the colors of warm brown, petal pink, and black for embroidered face details. The pigs are not removable. Small wooden dowels are secured with fabric glue inside the heads from the bottom and secured in the bag.
Chestnut Excelsior is stuffed and secured around the piglets' heads in top of the bag.
The bag and piglets' heads are stuffed with poly-fill. A poly-fill pellet filled (sealed)cotton bag is inserted to add weight in the bottom of the bag so it stands upright.
Jute twine is wrapped and tied around the bag with a tag stating, "Piglets for Sale".
This was such a joy to create and would make a fun conversation piece.
**I combine shipping and refund shipping overpayment.
Factoid: In the 18th century, a common phrase was "Never buy a pig in a poke." Some unscrupulous folks would scam buyers by placing a cat in a sack at market and sell it as a pig. The bag would be tied so that it wasn't obvious explaining that the pig was too wild and would escape. If the cat got out revealing the scam, then "The cat was out of the bag."
