I have recently moved to the mountains of eastern Tennessee where I find my treasures and offer them to you, the beholder. I hope you will find your "thing of beauty" here. I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. Vintage 1.5+ QT Italian Pottery Pitcher - Sandro Guzzi Studio - Bird Medallion w Striped Handle Signed
Large rustic pottery belly pitcher which I believe is by the Sandro Guzzi studio in Italy, could also be Portuguese. I found another by them with a rabbit that was almost identical. Holds over 1.5 QT (48 oz) The background glaze is ivory which is typically from the region of Tuscany. It features a long legged bird in orange and blue on a bright yellow central medallion surrounded by a decorative border in navy. It has black and orange trim around the rim and medallion and a black striped handle. It is signed at the base of the handle CAR. It is rustic in manufacture as well as design, because it is hand made & hand painted the painting is not precise and there are rough spots in the clay under the glaze. All of this is deliberate to how the item was made. The coil technique used to make it is visible on the inside of the piece. Size: 5.75 inches w x 8 inches h. Measurements are approx. and do not include handle. Condition: Excellent, I am not seeing any chips or cracks. Delivery: Carefully packaged & shipped from eastern TN to your door with no handling fees added. Will be sent via USPS ground advantage insured to save you $$.
