About the Piece and Maker

• The Technique: This piece is handcrafted using fused glass. The design is applied by hand using powdered enamel paints layered between clear glass. It is then kiln-fired at high temperatures for nearly half a day.
• Durability: Because the enamel paints are permanently fused into the glass during firing, the artwork will never wear off. Unlike traditional decorative art pieces, their fused glassware is designed to be functional, food-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
• The Studio: Founded in 1975 by Ray and Barbara Folio, the boutique is now run by their daughter, Kim Folio, who continues to hand-cut stencils and paint each piece on-site.
