Welcome in! Today l’m sharing a collection of trinket boxes that I acquired from an 80 year old widower. His wife passed 10 years ago and he is facing downsizing and transition to assisted living due to health reasons. He immigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1960 to the US. His work took him all over the world . His wife accompanied him on trips and would seek out unique trinket boxes. She also loved birds and would collect feathers found during these trips. A lot of these boxes have little notes (written in Slavic) with the dates and places the boxes were acquired, and some have the feathers she found. The husband shared that selling her collection, above anything else, is one of the hardest because this collection is so symbolic of her and of “them”. I assured him that whoever ended up with her boxes would treasure them-as I know you will! So, here’s to the 40 years of their love story!
