Spectacular vintage lapis lazuli tribal statement necklace, measuring approximately 22 inches long. This substantial piece features multiple genuine lapis lazuli cabochons in gorgeous deep cobalt blue, including a dramatic crescent-shaped lapis centerpiece.
Ornate silver-tone metalwork surrounds each stone with detailed rope and scroll-style decoration. The large crescent bib centerpiece is finished with five articulated lapis teardrop dangles, giving the necklace beautiful movement and presence.
The handcrafted construction and styling have a strong North African / Tuareg-inspired ethnic jewelry aesthetic, with visible hand-worked characteristics on the reverse. I would describe it as Tuareg style rather than definitively attributing it to the Tuareg without a maker’s mark or provenance.
