✨ Antique Japanese Hand-Painted Vanity Jar | Moriage-Style Raised Enamel | c. 1900–1920
This is a beautiful antique Japanese porcelain vanity jar, hand-painted and dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1920). The jar features delicate floral decoration, raised enamel detailing in the Moriage style, and elegant gilt accents, all hallmarks of Japanese export porcelain made for the Western market. The jar rests on three applied feet, a form commonly seen in Japanese vanity and dresser ware of this period. The decoration includes softly painted pink florals, green swags, raised enamel dots and vines, and fine gold highlights. The workmanship shows careful hand application rather than transfer decoration. The base is marked in blue with what appears to read “Hand Painted”, a type of English-language descriptor mark frequently used on Japanese export porcelain rather than a factory name. No specific maker is identified, which is typical for vanity items produced in Japanese workshops during this era. Details Origin: Japan Date: Circa 1900–1920 Material: Porcelain Decoration: Hand-painted florals, raised enamel (Moriage-style), gilt accents Form: Vanity / dresser jar with lid Base: Three applied feet Mark: Blue mark on base, appears to read “Hand Painted” Measurements Width: 4 ¼ inches Height: 3 inches Condition Very good antique condition No chips or cracks Minor wear to painted decoration consistent with age and gentle use Lid fits well This piece displays beautifully on a vanity tray, dresser, or curio and pairs wonderfully with other antique perfume bottles or powder jars. ✨ Perfect For Antique vanity collectors Cottagecore, Victorian, or Edwardian décor Gift for a porcelain or dresser-jar collector Styling vintage vanity vignettes
