Antique Perfection Disc Music Box 15” Class w/ 8 Original Discs c1900 Newark NJ Mechanical Music Box - Disc titles listed below ***Condition**** The machine is in antique, unrestored condition. • Spring winds smoothly. • When the start/stop lever is manually held in position, the machine plays through its full cycle. The lever does not consistently remain engaged on its own and may benefit from minor adjustment or servicing. • One comb tooth is missing, resulting in a single absent note during play. All remaining comb teeth are intact. • Cabinet retains original finish with age-appropriate wear. • Decorative lower beading shows minor loss/wear consistent with age. • Interior lithograph panel remains vibrant and intact. • Discs are flat with no cracks or splits observed. • Sold AS IS - please read entire description along with condition issues Measurements are approximate: Length: 20" Width: 17.75" Height: 11" Disc diameter: approximately 14" (15" Class) Music Box weight: 35.4 lbs Total disc weight: 5.14 lbs Description: Offered is an original turn-of-the-century disc music box manufactured by the Perfection Music Box Company of Newark, New Jersey, circa 1898–1905. This is the desirable 15-inch class model (discs measure approximately 14 inches in diameter) housed in its original wooden cabinet with decorative lower beading and interior lithograph panel. The music box includes eight original Perfection lithographed steel discs: • 2003 – Star Spangled Banner • 2121 – Columbia the Gem of the Ocean • 2042 – My Old Kentucky Home • 2054 – Banks of the Wabash • 2112 – Bird in the Gilded Cage • 2082 – Hot Time in the Old Town • 2099 – Huntsmen’s Chorus • 2073 – Flower Song These selections represent patriotic, parlor, classical, and popular repertoire of the late 19th and early 20th century and provide a strong starter library for the next owner.
