Caithness Glass Paperweight Inferno Colin Terris Numbered Scotland
This striking Caithness Glass paperweight titled Inferno was designed in 1986 by the renowned glass artist Colin Terris. It features vibrant cross of red, pink, and violet bubbles suspended above a red glass base, this seething mass is encased in a crystal-clear dome, evoking the fiery depths for which it was named. Measuring just over 3 inches (approx. 7.8 cm) in diameter and weighing 760 grams, this spherical art glass piece is engraved on the base Caithness Inferno Scotland. Caithness Glass was founded in 1961 in Wick, Scotland, and quickly gained international acclaim for its modern and colourful paperweights. Under the creative direction of Colin Terris, often referred to as the father of the modern paperweight, the company pioneered bold design and experimental techniques that revitalised paperweight artistry in the late 20th century. A superb piece for collectors of Caithness, British studio glass contemporary paperweights. No chips, cracks or bruises. MISC 40
