This is an American art glass celery vase. The glassmaker is possibly American Glass company from New England.1880’s. Hard to find vase. There are two patterns in the glass, which is unusual. The patterns are evenly spaced. There are vertical ridges in two places on the glass. The indentations of the ridges are slightly pronounced on the exterior and more visibly pronounced on the interior. Between the ridges the glass is a slanted diamond pattern. Condition: Air bubbles typical of vintage glass, see pictures. No other condition issues noted. UV glow with 365 UV light. Measurements are approximate. Please see pictures for condition and measurements as they are a part of the description. S2-32C History of American celery vases: Celery vases were popular from the 1830s to the early 1900s. Celery was a luxury food in the Victorian era, and celery vases were a symbol of wealth. Celery was a luxury food, used as a side dish or eaten between meals.
