This is an impressed seal mark, which reads 'Chen Guo Zhi Yin' (陳國治印). The characters translate to "Seal of Chen Guozhi". Chinese Yixing zisha clay teapot Yixing teapots are specialty vessels made from unglazed clay found near Yixing in China's Jiangsu province. The clay, known as zisha or "purple sand," contains high levels of iron, which helps retain heat and is said to enhance the flavor of the tea brewed in it. These teapots are typically made using a manual mold to form the body and lid, with the spout, handle, and knob formed freehand. They are prized by tea drinkers and scholars for their rustic elegance and the way they absorb the tea's natural oils over time. 3.5” tall 5” long Excellent like new condition with no breaks or chips (2314264)
