Historic 1865 “First Class Preference Scrip” certificate issued by the Marietta & Cincinnati Rail Road Company (Chillicothe, Ohio), dated July 16, 1865, for a fractional share amount. Features a 10¢ U.S. revenue stamp, hand-cancelled signatures in blue ink (“Cancelled April 2 1866”), printed by Robert Clarke & Co., Cincinnati.
