I have recently moved to the mountains of eastern Tennessee where I find my treasures and offer them to you, the beholder. I hope you will find your "thing of beauty" here. I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. Pioneer Girl in Bonnet w Mule & Covered Wagon Planter Posey Vase or Pen Pencil Brush Holder in Pastel Colors - Japan
This is such a sweet bit of kitsch. Planter or posey vase features a little pioneer girl with a mule & Conestoga covered wagon. In soft pastel colors with gold trim. A versatile piece, she would be adorable in a nursery or little girls room as a retro pen/pencil holder, use for make up or paint brushes, as well as its intended purposes. Unknown maker, marked Japan on the base, likely dates from the 1950s/60s. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, this has been lightly used at some point and could use a clean on the interior if you don't intend to use her as planter. There is a spot of missing paint on the top of her bonnet, this is not a defect, I just wanted to point it out. There are some rough spots here and there but this is part of how it was made.
