Tsuboya Arayachi Mini Pot Set Stoneware Okinawa Japan 1980s (0041-26)
Authentic Tsuboya arayachi stoneware mini pots from Okinawa, Japan, crafted in the 1980s with traditional ash glazes and hand-thrown forms—ideal as small vessels, toothpick jars, or display accents. This trio of miniature stoneware pots represents the arayachi tradition of Tsuboya pottery, a historic ceramic style originating in the Tsuboya district of Naha, Okinawa. Arayachi wares are known for their restrained forms, earthy clay bodies, and expressive natural glazes, created for everyday use rather than ornament alone. Each piece was hand-thrown and high-fired, featuring subtle variations in glaze flow and surface texture that reflect individual craftsmanship. These pots date to the 1980s and were acquired directly from a pottery studio in Okinawa, adding meaningful provenance for collectors of Japanese folk ceramics and studio pottery. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor firing variations and glaze pooling are consistent with traditional arayachi production. We photograph and describe each item carefully, but please expect natural signs of age. Embracing vintage means embracing history — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
