Vintage 1940s Kepi Straw Hat Genuine Milan Cap w Visor Made in Italy Size 7
This is a very unique “Kepi” style hat made in Italy of genuine Milan straw. The kepi is any flat circular cap with a peak or visor deriving from military tradition. It is often associated with the French military or police, although similar caps with peaks or visors were used during the American Civil War. The inner band and inside top label are stamped “Made in Italy”. The inner band circumference measures 22”. The hat is quite intricately woven in three different colours of straw. It has a decorative rope detail across the front of the crown and two circular knots one on each side of the crown. This hat is very hard to find and this does not appear to have been worn. It is a true collectors item.
