Vintage (1970s) Blenko/Joel Myers #706 Glass Vase, Yellow/Wheat, GLOWS!

This vintage Blenko (designed by Joel Myers) #706 glass vase from the 1970s is a stunning piece in their Wheat color (yellow) that glows under a blacklight. Handmade in Milton, West Virginia, this art glass vase stands at 6.6 inches tall and 4.7 wide and has their trademark pontil mark on the base. The inside of the vase has soft ribbing to create an optical effect and there is a thick pedestal base. The glow comes from the inclusion of cadmium sulfide in the glass mixture, turning yellow glass into an orange to red glow when a blacklight shines on it. It's beautiful! This vase also has some light red swirls included, visible mostly in the neck, which means the upper portion of the vase glows predominantly red while the body glows yellow/orange. (I used both a 365 and a 395 blacklight in the pictures.)

The vase is in excellent condition, the same as the day it was made. There are no chips, cracks or signs of wear.
