This is an important book, both for book collectors, but also for literature aficionados. It is the story of Clarissa Harlowe, The First And One Of The Most Famous Heroines Of The English Novel, as told by Samuel Richardson. Approx 7.25” x 4.75”; ©️1950; 786pp; by Samuel Richardson; very good condition; intact dust jacket shows signs of vintage wear (and price was cut off inside flap) but it did a stellar job of protecting the book, which is largely crisp, save for some slight rolling at corners and edges of spine. There is also a signature on the title page that looks like an autograph? But is not the name of anyone associated with the book, so that’s a mystery.
