Vintage Hand Carved Wood Face Votive Candle Holder Folk Art Tribal Style
Unusual vintage hand-carved wooden candle holder featuring a wonderfully expressive stylized face or mask design. Deep carved details, exaggerated brows, openwork eyes and a long angular nose give this little fellow plenty of personality.
The recessed opening at the top appears designed to hold a small votive or tea light, with the openwork allowing light to shine through the carved face. Because this piece is made of wood, an LED tea light would be a fun and safer way to display it.
Measures approximately 3 3/4" tall and weighs 5.8 oz.
Preowned vintage condition with age-related surface wear, variations in the wood and carving, and minor marks consistent with age and use. Please see photos for details.
