Vintage Lewistown Panthers Varsity Jacket embroidered 1948 Size XL (48)

This is a super nice Vintage varsity jacket. It is in magnificent condition. It doesn't appear to have been worn. Burgundy and grey It is embroidered 48 with some initials. snap close Size XL wool shell Came from an estate. They said it was his letterman jacket from 1948, but I don't think the jacket is that old however. The sleeves are made of polyurethane per the label - is polyurethane that old? I checked the label and it isn't a current label from Rennco - but I can't get an exact date on it. I think the label looks more like something you would see on an 80s or 90s item. The jacket was made in U.S.A. So I think it's probably vintage, but possibly not as old as the embroidered date indicates. No guarantees on exact age of the jacket. Approximate measurements: 26 inches armpit to armpit; 26 inches center back to bottom edge
