#0321 Northwood green carnival glass two-handled candy dish with ruffled edge.

Carnival glass, also known as iridescent glass, was produced from the early 1900s to the 1930s, with some production continuing later. It was made by applying a metallic salt solution to molten glass, creating a shimmering, iridescent surface that changed color depending on the light. This technique was often used on pressed glass patterns, making decorative items accessible to a wider audience. Northwood, founded by Harry Northwood, was one of the most prolific and well-known manufacturers of carnival glass in the United States. They produced a wide array of patterns and colors, with green and iridescent gold being among the most popular. Their pieces are highly sought after by collectors for their quality, design, and vibrant iridescence. 7” no chips or cracks.
