I have recently moved to the mountains of eastern Tennessee where I find my treasures and offer them to you, the beholder. I hope you will find your "thing of beauty" here. I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. Antique Double Handled Tea Cup & Matching Demitasse Avenir 1890s George Demartine Limoges Hand Decorated Gold Roses Chocolate - France
George Demartine & Cie (Company) set of 2 Limoges cups. I believe one is a rare double handled tea cup and the other is a demitasse or chocolate cup but it could be a cream soup & a tea cup. I have never seen such a small cream soup which makes me doubtful that it is a correct ID. I have included a regular sized tea cup in one photo for comparison. These are marked Avenir, this is not the pattern name as some attribute it but means hand decorated in French. The set has heavy gold trim with hand painted roses and blue flowers on a white blank. Tea cup stand is not included. George Demartine was in business from 1884 - 1906 and designed items for Tiffany. I am guessing these are from 1890 - 1900. Approx Size: double handled cup - 3.25" w x 2.5"w (cup only), saucer - 4.75" w Condition*: Very good condition for age.
