I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. Witch Stein RARE Porcelain Oversized Mug by Goebel Broom Unique Handle Design Vintage Gretel Nursery Rhyme Halloween - West Germany
Rare mug/beer stein by Goebel China. This is marked W. Germany which means they were made 1949 - 1990. This large oversized mug / beer stein is extremely rare. I believe it is hand painted. This is either a witch holding a broom or a depiction of Gretel from the Hansel & Gretel nursery rhyme. Very nice design & detail on this piece, her hair/pigtail is the handle. Please note that the devil mug in the video has sold. Approx Size: 5"h x 4" w, not including the handle. Condition: This piece has a flake missing on the bottom of the mug (please see last two photos) It could easily be touched up with a little paint and be completely unnoticeable if it bothers you. I think it is quite hidden as it is. Other than that I am not seeing any defects. These typically sell for $75 so I have reflected the damage in the price.
