This Signed Vintage Japanese Damascene Butterfly Brooch is a highly collectible piece of Japanese Damascene jewelry featuring a beautiful scene on each wing. Great condition. Measures 1 3/4” X 1”
The marking stamped on the back is a traditional Japanese craftsman's square seal mark (hallmark) used by high-end jewelry workshops in Kyoto, Japan during the mid-20th century.Specifically, this stylized geometric emblem represents the Amita jewelry workshop signature style. While many of their pieces were explicitly stamped textually with "Amita Japan", select production runs utilized this cleaner, incised logo emblem instead.
