Vintage First Edition Hardcover Esquire’s Handbook for Hosts 1949

Approx 10” x 5.75”; ©️1949; 288pp; dust jacket has significant wear but it is still largely intact; book in very good vintage condition (writing on inside cover, but otherwise unblemished). This is a true piece of history. Absolutely amazing. It includes 316 recipes for canapés, snacks, and "male-slanted" food, along with 608 (!!) cocktail recipes. The illustrations are pure Esquire, with cartoons. The book is a 3-parter, one could say — Eat! Drink! And Be Merry! (chock-full of bar games and quizzes for any size gathering). A true gem. Anyone who relishes the Mad Men era of American culture would be tickled to add this to their shelf!
