Vintage Imperial Glass Octagonal Iridescent Reversed Intaglio Fruit Glass Design

Featuring a paneled edge, this stunning art glass piece with its orchard design was made by Imperial Glass of Ohio in 1972-73 and is discontinued. The iridescent octagonal glass dish features a "reverse intaglio" design: an advanced carving technique where a design is carved into the back of a piece of glass or crystal. If you look closely at the 4th photo you can see that the three-dimensional image seems to appear lifelike and come forward to appear like it's floating. The imbedded design is then painted and fired. Measurements: 7 3/4" in diameter. Like New Condition: no chips or cracks.
